RECONSTRUCTION OF THE TRAMWAY TRACK ALONG TSAR BORIS III BOULEVARD – FROM KNYAZHEVO LOOP TO SOFIA COURTHOUSE LOOP

The activity includes the execution of construction and installation works and the exercise of designer supervision of site ‘Reconstruction of the tramway track along Tsar Boris III Boulevard from Knyazhevo loop to Sofia Courthouse loop, not including the sections of Russian Monument Square and the crossroad of Tsar Boris III Boulevard and Gotse Delchev Boulevard:

– Part А: Tsar Boris III Boulevard from Russian Monument Square to Knyazhevo loop, and

– Part B: Makedonia Boulevard and Alabin Street from Russian Monument Square to Sofia Courthouse tram turning loop.

MANNER OF IMPLEMENTATION

For the implementation of the activity, a procedure was conducted for the selection of a contractor for the award of public contract with subject ‘Reconstruction of the tramway track along Tsar Boris III Boulevard from Knyazhevo loop to Sofia Courthouse loop, not including the sections of Russian Monument Square and the crossroad of Tsar Boris III Boulevard and Gotse Delchev Boulevard’.

RESULT

The expected result is the reconstruction of the tramway track along Tsar Boris III Boulevard from Knyazhevo loop to Sofia Courthouse loop, not including the sections of Russian Monument Square and the crossroad of Tsar Boris III Boulevard and Gotse Delchev Boulevard, according to the technical design, applicable statutory documents and time schedule. 

The activity will have a direct impact on improving the environmental situation, which will reduce noise and vibrations along these routes. The quality of the transport services provided in these areas will be improved and this will result in an increase in their use by the population, as well as the development of transport connection in the regions. The connection with the 3^rd metro diameter will be improved, thus achieving intermodality of the provided services.
